Mission Accomplished!
Picture this – you’re in the middle of a joint military operation and a critical piece of your equipment fails making it extremely dangerous for you to continue with your mission. This was the situation facing one of our users Marco D. from the Italian Folgore Paratrooper Brigade.
Fortunately, the situation ended well for Marco. It was also his introduction to our HEL-STAR 6® multi-function helmet light. After running almost two miles in full combat gear to the nearest American Observation Post he was given a HEL-STAR 6® by a U.S Army Staff Sgt. which allowed him to continue safely with the planned fire strike.
Marco shared with us how invaluable the HEL-STAR 6® is to him especially during night operations. Recently while conducting a night jump from a C130 he avoided a near collision with a colleague thanks to the visual effectiveness of the HEL-STAR 6® as a personnel marker light.
As most of you know, the HEL-STAR 6® is highly rated IFF device that allows users to identify themselves to other team members during a wide variety of military and law enforcement operations. It is currently in worldwide use by U.S Forces and their allies in a variety of mission specific operations.
As a 6 year old Marco dreamed of joining the Army after listening to stories from his Grandfather whose dedication as a soldier inspired him to pursue his own military career and serve his homeland. In his first year of service he was selected to serve in the R.U.D (Defense Unit Group). However, it was his decision to train for military airborne operations and a life-changing experience with 9Rgt Of Assault Col Moschin that ultimately determined his future career path.
Since his enlistment in 2008 Marco has successfully completed training and operations in a number of specialist roles including, S.E.R.E, Counterterrorism, Army airborne ops, and he is now the Recon and Team Communications Manager for the Folgore Brigade as well as the SAOV (Surveillance Acquisition Visual Objectives).
Marco has a passion for passing on what he has learned throughout his career to new recruits. By helping them to lay a solid foundation, he hopes to see them fulfil their full potential. This desire is also what motivated him to start his own Instagram page, which you can check out @tactical_italy_official. Through this outlet he is able to encourage and assist civilians and law enforcement, as well as other military personnel.
We appreciate Marco’s commitment to his craft and community, his strong advocacy for the HEL-STAR® as an essential safety device is an encouraging reminder to us about the importance of the products we manufacture.
