Welcome to the CORE Survival Family: First Sergeant (Retired) Steven Haas, Our New Business Development Manager

We are excited to welcome First Sergeant (Retired) Steve Haas to the CORE Survival team as our new Business Development Manager! Steve's impressive military background and extensive experience in leadership and strategic planning make him a valuable addition to our company.

Biography of First Sergeant (Retired) Steven Haas

Steve Haas began his illustrious military career in 2003 when he enlisted in the United States Army. He completed his Basic Training and Advanced Individual Training as a 13F (Fire Support Specialist) at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. His first assignment was with the 1-503rd, 2nd ID at Camp Casey, Korea, where he served as a Radio Telephone Operator and Forward Observer. During this time, he deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom from August 2004 to July 2005.

Following his deployment, Steve's unit was reassigned to Fort Carson, Colorado, and he later served with the 1-505th PIR at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Here, he once again took on the role of Forward Observer and deployed to Iraq from August 2006 to October 2007. Upon his return, he was stationed at Fort Bliss, Texas, where he served as the Combat Observation Lasing Team (COLT) Platoon Sergeant with the 2-29 FA, 4 AD. Another deployment to Iraq followed from May 2009 to April 2010.

Steve's career continued with the 4th Battlefield Coordination Detachment (BCD) at Shaw AFB, where he served as the Future Plans Fire Support Sergeant. He deployed to Al Udeid, Qatar, from November 2011 to February 2012, working at the Combined Air Operations Center. Subsequent assignments included roles as Battalion Targeting NCO and Fire Support NCO for the 3-509th PIR at Fort Richardson, Alaska, and as BN Fire Support NCO and Joint Terminal Attack Controller (JTAC) with the 1st BN, 3rd Special Forces Group at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. His deployments during this time took him to Afghanistan and Somalia.

Steve’'s final military assignments were at Camp Casey, Korea, as the First Sergeant of the 1-38th FAR, and later at Fort Campbell, Kentucky, with the 3-320th FAR, where he served as a Battery First Sergeant. He concluded his distinguished career as the Senior Military Science Instructor at Augusta University, Georgia, retiring in April 2024.
